Next Week in TV 8/27: Winter takes over our summer TV

By DRWHO42 and Alyssa

The week ahead may seem light with new offerings, however, the super-sized season finale of Game of Thrones and the season premiere of Netflix’s Narcos will tip the balance. This season of Game of Thrones may have been abbreviated but it certainly exceeded the expectations of fans based on all the buzz and water cooler conversations. In preparation for the not-to-be-missed season finale check out our recaps written by our resident super fan Mlgagne.

Also, with the holiday weekend ahead it presents a great opportunity to check out some of the summer series you may have missed out on or have stacked in your DVR queue. Our top recommendations are Mr. Mercedes, The Mist, Will, A Handmaids Tale, Blood Drive, The Strain, Glow, Marvel’s The Defenders, The Tick, and Midnight, Texas. There are also a couple of interesting movies on the streaming platforms to check out including What happened to Monday and War Machine.

And while GoT has reigned supreme over our summer viewing (staying away from an eclipse joke) we have also been impressed with Preacher, Ray Donovan, Dark Matter, Wynonna Earp, and Killjoys. If you have not checked these gems out yet we recommend giving them a watch.

Killjoys, Animal Kingdom, Queen of the South, Hooten & The Lady, and Night Shift will say adieu this week as they wrap up their seasons.

Last but not least, we want to hear from you! Tell us what you have been watching through our survey – click here. We will share the results in an upcoming article.
