FoCC Sneak Peek: September 2017 TV Premieres

By Mario Wario, DRWHO42, & Alyssa

Hey look, September is here and we will start to leave the summer heat behind and look ahead toward cooler weather – but without any White Walkers knocking at our doors. This month also means a brand new season of television shows to explore is just around the corner.

Just as plotting new a course before hitting warp speed (see what we did there?), we (sort of) did the same thing by checking out new series set to premiere this month. So, while some of your favorite series may have ended, such as Orphan Black, or just had their season finale, Game of Thrones, there are plenty of new things to look forward to this month.

The series generating the biggest buzz for us on the blog team include Star Trek: Discovery, which is making its debut. On the humor side, we have FOX’s The Orville starring Seth MacFarlane and CBS’s Young Sheldon. Marvel’s Inhumans made its debut in IMAX recently but will make its transition to ABC later this month. Despite the critical reception, we will be tuning in to check it out. As always FX’s American Horror Story: Cult will bring something uniquely interesting and exciting to the screen.

Aside from the pop-culture themed series there are a few series to put on the radar including military-based The Brave on NBC & SEAL Team on CBS. The medical series The Good Doctor on ABC is a standout with its underlying autism & savant storyline. One more sitcom starring John Larroquette and Bobby Moyniha, titled Me, Myself and I rounds out our scripted series. Lastly, the PBS Ken Burns ten episode documentary on The Vietnam War looks promising.

Alyssa’s picks: The Orville, Star Trek: Discovery, SEAL Team, Me Myself & I, and The Vietnam War.
DRWHO42’s picks: Star Trek: Discovery, Marvel’s Inhumans, and Young Sheldon
Mario Wario’s picks: Star Trek: Discovery, SEAL Team, The Orville, AHS: Cult, and The Brave

Here is a run-down of all of the new series this month along with trailers. Happy viewing!
