I had to wait a bit before postinig about the last ep- 'Cupid's Dagger'.  After watching it twice, I laughed so hard at more than a few scenes, and dialogue.  The muzak elevator scenes with the new character alien, were hilarious- "Is this your JOB??!!"  Oh, and .."This is not your dry a$$ banana bread!", for some reason, that tickled me sooo much.  One more..there are some things that once seen, cannot be unseen...."The jelly wants, what the jelly wants".   I am done!  Defintely an adult show ladies and gents....
It is 2024, and I am still asking...where's my flyin' car??!! @fannishmarcia

Yay! So glad this got renewed and that its rating have remained good.  I've gotta thank the enthusiasm of those of you who  have posted about this show because otherwise I may not have ever gotten around to actually watching it as I can usually only take so much of Seth McFarlane's humor but I really wanted Adrianne Palicki to find another show with longevity.  I love how it's just the right amount of TOS/TNG heart + parody/leaning in to the camp of Star Trek.

Last week when we were watching the show, my husband said that he didn't miss Star trek anymore (we haven't watch Discovery yet) because this show filled the void very nicely. He's hoping that Creation might get the actors in their shows.

I really like both shows, Gasp!!! :D
The more things change, the more they stay the same

Hoban 'Wash' Washburn: It's okay, I'm a leaf on the wind!
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: What does that mean?

Sighing with sadness as the first season of "The Orville" has come to an end.  New episodes seem so far away..so very far away.  Waaaahhh!  Yet, there ARE new episodes to look forward to, and for a FOX tv series such as this, that is a good thing. I have heard that the crew are getting ready to begin filming. :-\

Just watched the most recent episode and really like that episode as well. I find myself thinking "I'm not sure I want to watch this weeks episode" but then once I watch it, thinking that it really was quite enjoyable. All the episodes seem very reminiscent of older Star Trek series but then with some new twist, and that's just enough to be entertaining. I'm glad that it will continue in 2018.

We were all very disappointed to realize that we will probably have to wait almost a year for new Orville episodes. However we are glad that we got this season. We are watching Discovery right now, and while it is a decent show, it doesn't *feel* like Star Trek. The Orville *feels* like Star Trek... like lost episodes of TNG mixed in with crude humor outtakes/blooper reel.

I hope they have another panel at SDCC next year! We went to the panel in 2017, but suspect that next year will make much more of a splash!

Good point, I totally skipped the panel this past con, but would really be interested in seeing them if they have a panel in 2018, this would be a good candidate for a room upgrade as I'm sure the interest will be there, as you mention.

With each new episode, I try thinking of which episodes of TOS or TNG is this most like... but it's different enough that I don't mind.

I, too, went to this year's panel at SDCC, which was in a fairly large room, but certainly not Ballroom 20.  I hope it will be back, bigger and with more splash.  [member=314]Transmute Jun[/member] - maybe this time I will be smart enough to go get my give away- if there is one.  This time I will know who everyone is..and, wow, it will be so much fun.  Kind of a victory panel.

...And...  Since this is a spoiler thread.  I really liked the way they handled the Ed and Kelly romantic liaison.  Most of us figured it was going to happen sometime.  I thought it was tenderly done, and I actually liked seeing them kiss, then kiss-off.  If the series had to end there because of cancellation, I would have been ok with this being the final.  IF it had to be, but again...woohooo...more to come!

For those who did not attend the panel this year:

IIRC, the third person in this picture plays Bortus.

The first 2 people in this picture play Issac and Alara

For those who don't know, Chad Coleman (Tyreese from TWD) plays Bortus' mate, Klyden.

This is the t-shirt they gave away at the panel (unfortunately size large only).
