Well there are people advocating for selling Hall H tickets to solve the line problem ...

People advocating it and SDCC doing it are two different things.  I'd like to advocate that SDCC release some hotel rooms to the open market so that people who can afford to pay more can avoid the hotel lottery.  But, SDCC will never do that because they feel it's unfair.

I for one hope something like that never happens.

Didn't they do something similar a few years ago with the Next Gen cast?

This did occur the Gen Cast was actually touring separate but having their "panel" at cons.  They charged in every state they went to.

It caused a lot of confusion and people were pissed.   It sold out in Denver though so people being upset didn't really impact it's success.

No, I specifically meant NYCC, in 2014 I think.  All of the Next Gen cast were listed as Con guests doing autographs and photos and whatnot, even including Patrick Stewart I believe.  But they had a separate panel Friday night with the full cast in New York with a separate charge.  And i believe it sold out.  My weekend cleared up at the last minute that year and I looked into going up for it.

Had a ticket in my cart but then decided to save my money and buy stuff on the show floor or put towards a Hamill autograph!

Yes the same thing occurred at several cons all over the country.

This did happen. One difference I recall was the tickets were reasonably priced relatively speaking. I believe under $100 for even the best ones and maybe $20 to get in the door?

I'm a sucker and bought tickets...almost instantly regretting it

I already plowed down two hundred clams for a photo-op with Felicity Jones and am wondering if it's worth it.  No freaking way am I spending $1,499 for a photo and autograph with Mark Hamill.  Nothing against him personally, just think he charges too much.

I have a ticket to this (second row, center section) available if anyone wants it for cost (maybe even a little below if you're nice - ha). I bought it, but won't be able to attend unfortunately.

Last week he teased some sort of lottery or something to get his autograph for free.  That's probably what they're referring to.
