Which state was it in? The volunteer/paid laws can vary by state.

It was Washington, and yes volunteer/labor/employment laws can vary heavily by state.

I was referring to Comic-Con, the one in San Diego.  The last time Walker Stalkers was there in 2015, I was an unpaid volunteer.  I didn't even get the promised t-shirt.
