After the stress of Open Reg it's nice to a slower pace sale. No doubt they'll sell out today.

Definitely stressful to have both during the same day but now having obtained both, so glad it's over with.Marriott res next!

Tickets seem to still be available now (5:38 CDT). Quite a change from a couple of years ago. Their issues were really solved by going to Eventbrite. So happy that I got badges. Such a fun time! I already have some ideas for badge ribbons.

So, Gally Marriott reservations happen May 1. Hotelpocalypse is rumored to be May 2. Hotel Heck Week!!!

Interesting badge sale news from the organizers.

*****

As of 8:30am Pacific time on Sunday, April 9, there are still some tickets for sale! We are nearly at sellout of the 2018 Gallifrey One convention, with approximately 40 tickets left as of right now… but you can still get a ticket to next year’s convention by buying at our EventBrite page.

(We did expect this to happen, as we’ve noted several times in the past few weeks… with the series mostly off the air the past 18 months, and the sheer amount of Doctor Who conventions out there these days.  But nobody’s happier than we are that everyone who wanted to buy tickets today and has been online at the appropriate time has gotten them!)

We are once again selling approximately 3200 tickets to the public while supplies last. Of that count, over 3150 tickets to the 2018 event have been sold.

LOL-got done working for the evening and came to add a reminder. Just to add to this-it's noon PDT (3pm EDT).

It looks like they are doing a link from the Facebook event page. Last year, it was a code, wasn't it?

Although-I am doing Concierge, so I don't know that I need the link.

I have a Whovian family and was wondering if Gallifrey One would be a good family vacation. It would mean crossing the country and a good deal of expense. Is it worth it? Just looking for some reviews from the FoCC community! Thanks!

I went to my first Gallifrey One last year. I am not a Whovian, but I was accompanying my daughter, who is. I have to say that it was one of the nicest cons I have ever attended. Yes, it's small, but it's very social and they have a lot of interesting panels. Although I wasn't interested in Doctor Who, there were plenty of science panels that I found interesting, as well as some Star Trek panels and even a non-Who cosplay meetup. The Masquerade on Saturday evening was good, as was the big comedy show on Friday night. There were people of all ages there and it was very family friendly. If you are a Whovian family, it is an excellent vacation.

That being said, I believe tickets for 2018 are sold out, so you may have to wait until 2019.

I've been to Gally and stayed in the Marriott for the last three years, and I plan to try for rooms there again today. But just for grins, yesterday I checked out the room prices at the Hilton next door. A twin room there goes for about $170 per night, which is only a little more than the Marriott, and I can reserve it right now. Has anyone here stayed there? If so, are there any disadvantages to NOT being in the Marriott?

I echo what TJ says about what a wonderful little con it is. Flying in to LA is great too, since it is at the LAX Marriott-easy access. I don't know how it is to drive in. Hotel prices in the area are reasonable, even if you don't get con rate at the Marriott. I believe the Embassy Suites is a popular one, and has more room for families (and free breakfast).

It is sold out for 2018, but they do allow ticket transfers (starting in the fall) and there are usually quite a few people looking to sell their tickets (at cost). Plans do change. If you need a lot of time to plan, they 2019 would probably be better (it will be the 30th anniversary), but 2018 is somewhat doable.

Okay, after all of the SDCC hotel stress I've been dealing with this morning, it's about time for Gallifrey One hotel stress!

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

I am here. I had training today at 1:30 and was pleasantly surprised that it was short. I am actually going for concierge level, so I don't know if I have to use the link.
