Office decorations
« on: August 22, 2017, 07:44:58 PM »
We are moving to a new building and they are saying we need to tone down our self expression. I'm OK with less stuff (someone said my office looks like a museum), but come on people. So I bought myself a Wonder Woman chair cape (got it OK'd with management too!) and I also got my picketing Storm Trooper OK'd. My new home away from home will slowly have a fun appearance.  Baby steps. I'd love to see your work spaces! Please share! And make sure to point out your one "must have".

I slowly getting things to the lab's office in my school, but since I don't spend that much time there I only got a Toad made of porcelain and a (accidentally) melted beaker. I'll post a pic later

I mostly work at home, but when I am in the office, I have a small Funko Pop collection on a low cabinet, and some great con posters hanging on the walls (Star Trek, Geek & Sundry, Pocket God, etc.) as well as an autographed Family Circus print I got from Jeff Keane.

To the left: Star Wars mug, comic con custom pen holder (printed out a picture and taped it over a different holder), Yuri on Ice standee, lots and lots of cases of tea.

To the right: Anime crap, Game of Thrones mug.

Between my monitors: Hulk chapstick, Atsushi keychain, BB-8 plushie, and various cosmetic stuff.

Edit: My "must have" is the coffee.

My office is a "showpiece" of my workplace and we can't have any personal items out at all. It's depressing. At Christmas they pet me put up a tree and some lights though.

My "official" office is just a cube, there are a few geeky things there among the books and papers, I'll take a photo tomorrow if I remember. Some people I work with have their space all decked out with collectibles but we were recently acquiired by a huge company and there is concern about the culture getting more restrictive.

But there's always my home office/cave, where I'm doing the majority of my work these days, and I've just redone it for Halloween. (lots of glare in the photos :( ) Also, I know groot isn't that scary but I haven't dusted in a while and I noticed he has some spider webs covering him which go well with his glow in the dark arm.

Thinking next theme will be Star Wars/space stuff.

LOVE that Jurassic Park poster!!

It 's glow in the dark too :) Turns out I have enough glow in the dark stuff I could probably do a whole theme with just those.

Here's the actual work office, everything is white so hard to take a photo. Used to be more pops but those are the process of being moved home. Ironically the books and papers are now the geekiest thing in there, lots of other people in the office have collectibles but I seem to be the only person who still regularly uses books. The magic 8-ball is my go to prop when I am interviewing someone.
