This fall on CBS, the dynamic duo gets a modern-day makeover cracking cases in contemporary New York City. Brilliant investigator Sherlock, played by Jonny Lee Miller (Dexter), is a recent rehab graduate paired with his worst nightmare: sober coach Joan Watson, played by Lucy Liu (Charlie's Angels). Together, Sherlock's unique detective skills and Watson's medical expertise make a formidable force capable of solving the NYPD's most impossible cases. Be the first to see an exclusive sneak peek at the new television series, followed by a panel discussion with series stars Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu and executive producers Robert Doherty and Carl Beverly, moderated by Entertainment Weekly assistant managing editor Dalton Ross. Ballroom 20

In a modern-day take on Sherlock Holmes, the iconic detective is taking on New York. Just out of rehab, he's been assigned to live with his worst nightmare-sober coach, Dr. Joan Watson. Holmes's unsurpassed skills of deduction and Watson's medical expertise come together to create a dream team for solving the NYPD's most impossible cases.

Love Jonny Lee Miller. Lucy Liu? Not so much.

So I guess this means the inevitable hookup of Holmes and Watson?

i think what i like abt the clip is it shows Holms as a modern day social misfit....being the type who find's it harder to navigate social situations then crime scenes.

Hmm, why do I have a sense that this is a going to be a romantic drama?

When I first heard about this, I couldn't believe it because the BBC has the excellent Sherlock which is shown on PBS here.  Why would CBS put on a show that's already perfected? But when I saw the clip with Johnny Lee Miller I was sold!  I wish they had got anybody but Lucy Liu to play Watson.  But Mr Miller will be worth watching.

Ha ha, I thought Lucy Liu being in there was a little weird too. @__@;  I guess it's the network's way of giving viewers a new twist on two famous literary characters...

I am really looking forward to this show! Love Jonny Lee Miller. Did anyone watch Eli Stone? He was so good in that show-I wish it had lasted longer. DH and I loved Hackers too.

This is one of the few shows I'm excited for, I'm a fan of Jonny Lee Miller's work and it looks pretty good.
I just wish the BBC Sherlock fandom would leave it alone, half of them are already bashing something they haven't even seen yet.

Don't they always do that? I had friends that bashed the US version of Being Human (more understandable, but BBC actually approached SyFy to do the US version, from what I heard), that are now fans (how could you not like Sam Witwer?).

Yes, I suppose they do, I actually prefer the US Being Human to the BBC version haha, but you are right, not liking Sam Witwer is impossible.

I just hope once it airs that A- it's good, and B- the BBC Sherlock fandom gives it a chance/break.

Sam is pretty cute and very sweet. Here's a picture I captured of him at Texas Comic Con last year: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Back to the topic-I am hoping there will be a preview of Elementary at Comic Con. We can pass early judgement! A chance to see a panel with Jonny Lee Miller would be great too! I still miss Eli Stone.
