Thanks for posting and the calendar link!

I've submitted for our renewal. And now we wait ???
Please oh please convention gods let us know if we got it BEFORE general badge sales so I don't have to go through that stress. :'(
-
It does say that you will hear in 8-10 weeks, with an early November deadline, so it seems to me that they want to get it done by the end of the year.
-
Is it still two years?

Yep, but it does say they COULD ask for information earlier.
Seems like they are getting more strict this year. Only 3 months back for articles. No freelance options. Etc. I just found out that last year they asked a blog to reduce the number of reporters they were approved for, which I've never heard of happening before. Ugghhh now I'm freaking out a bit.
-
Mine says "Due" yet this year was my first year approved as press. That's why I'm curious if it is still two years or not.

How much on track is this years timing compared with previous years? Just trying to gauge how likely it will be that pre-Reg will be back in November instead of delayed like it was last year.
-
Emailed CCI about my account saying DUE for press when this year was my first year, and I thought a press badge was for a two year period, yet I've not heard back from them yet.
Do they have a phone number? Or do I just have to send a follow up email?

In the verification materials of the Press Application for Digital Media, it asks for three bylined articles urls AND the Applicant Archive URL from the last 3 months. What do they mean by Applicant Archive? Is it the url for the website that shows all the articles you are the author?

Yes.

As a reminder, the press application deadline is in two and a half weeks! I got mine in on the second day but if anyone was waiting for something, the deadline is quickly approaching. Good luck to everyone with verification due (or applying for the first time) this year!
On that note, I wonder when the first people will start to be informed if they've been approved? I feel like pre-reg won't be until November. Hopefully we'll know sometime after that. I hope we hear before open reg at the very least so we don't have to go through that sale unnecessarily.
-
Good luck to everyone! I know it's nerve wracking to wait for an answer and in my experience, the Press Department at CCI isn't responsive at all to emails. I think they are always swamped.

I'd hope we hear before open reg as it said on the application 8-10 weeks.

Yes fingers crossed. But is that 8-10 weeks from when we turn in the application? Or 8-10 weeks from when applications close? If the former, I should hear mid to late November. If the latter... mid to late January? Please please please be the former.

Last time we were up for verification, it was like 8 weeks and 2 days from when we applied that we heard. It was RIGHT after the application window had closed. Hoping this year is a repeat!

Hahahahaha! That was the exact same question I had thought of.
Let's hope it's the latter.

[member=4434]Angel_[/member] I saw that you had replied and thought maybe it was because you had heard back. False alarm... :(
(I just realized my response may cause the same reaction by others on this thread waiting to hear back. Sorry! :()

Oh god I'm so sorry. After THIS one, I'll only post important information hahaha.
-
Ok so I ACTUALLY have something relevant to say and not just a gif reaction.
Open Reg is December 9th and the Member ID portals have been reopened. I logged in and it says "verification due" and that I'm eligible for open reg. To me that means it's still processing, but I wanted to check with you guys and see if you're seeing the same thing, or if yours states that you are eligible for press? I hope I'm not denied :'(
-
Check your emails. Alerts are going out.
My team has been approved!
-
Congrats! You were probably the first to submit, which is why you're first to hear! ;D Hopefully others start hearing soon.

Hey Guys,
I was checking my account today and I just realized the press tab has disappeared from my account page.
Is it a sign my application was rejected?
I was DUE last year and I knew I wasn't going so I did not register. So I'm not sure, I had a Press tab when I sent my verification materials this year.
Any insights would be welcomed.
-
Viper1701, you should be notified via e-mail when CCI makes the decision to approve or deny you. So I'd wait for that.
Me, I'm still waiting. I submitted on October 31 and haven't heard yet. I just looked up how long my wait was in my first year: I submitted on November 27, 2012 and was approved on April 10, 2013. And back then, they said that it would take 4-6 weeks. It turned out to be more like months instead of weeks, but at least I was approved after that.
-
Interesting thanks.
Anybody out there ever got a rejection email?
A friend of mine was rejected once or so we think because he just never got a reply...
-
So I went and looked back at my Verification Materials delivery confirmation email and the link to my letter does not work. I emailed pressreg with my concern that if I can't see it, neither can they. I have heard nothing back. Still concerned about the status of my Press Credentials. Do the links to your letters work?
-
Hm. I just checked, and the Jotform link indeed does not work. But it's perfectly possible that it did work, shortly after submitting. That data might simply expire after a while, but it doesn't necessarily mean that it's also CCI's source to read the letter.
-
You would hope that CCI took all the info they needed before it all expired.
Now heading towards week 30 since applying at the end of the first week it was open.

I got a rejection email the first year I applied for Pro

After four months of not receiving any response re: my application, I emailed the press inquiries address provided on the website and got a confirmation email about a week later. I assumed after not hearing for so long I'd be receiving a rejection letter, but was very pleasantly surprised. This will be my first year attending as accredited press, though I was able to use my connections to get into a couple of offsite things last year.

Same here. I received my approval on 3/8, which is after a little over four months. But I'm happy. :)

Welcome to the club! :)
-
Yes, the first time I went as press it also took about four months. I think I emailed them five or six times!
Congratulations on being approved! It's a lot of fun.
-
True, my first time took a long while too. I guess everyone and their mother is probably applying for these things, so there's a lot to process for CCI.
-
Congratulations to all who have been approved! Good luck tomorrow with Hotel apocalypse. This is the part I really dread..

Does anyone know how long it takes CCI to refund badge cost once press is approved?

Congratulations! The first time we applied for press this same situation happened. No approval or rejection after months, we wrote them and within a week we were approved. I think some might fall through the cracks.
