Very visceral, gives me the sense of a wave that is about to break.

yes
i actually always get my bronze age classic books pressed unless they're super pristine with high gloss.

I won a lottery for jim lee, & didn't have anything to sign... so i had to buy a book- i've probably got a better copy in my collection.... <grumble>

i may crack it and get Claremonot to sign it too ;)  I like high end key issues

I *really* need to go through my books and pull more for grading...

We now return our conversation to its regularly scheduled topic...
George Perez/Alex Ross...one of my faves...

Found this while trying to figure out what the poster would be in the IDW Star Trek box. This is not from a comic, rather conceptual art from J.K. Woodward but posting it anyway since there's quite a lot of story in this one picture.

Still jealous of the 9.4.  I was going to send in my New Mutants 87 but it's a VF at best.  Two new titles I want to check out are Shirtless Bear Fighter and Redneck.  Here's the variant which looks sick for SDCC 2017:

herocomplexgallery It is with huge sadness and our love for our good artist friend, AJ Frena, that we have to report that she has received some bad news. AJ was admitted to the hospital in late April after a massive growth was discovered, and within a few days went through surgery to remove two malignant tumors that had been growing inside her for more than 6 months. Within a week AJ was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and has been going through chemotherapy treatments since.

Fortunately, the cancer was detected in its earlier stages which greatly increases AJ's chances, but it will still be a long uphill battle for her to beat the cancer for good. The treatment will involve 6 total rounds of chemotherapy, which is a very effective cancer treatment, but with many negative side effects. AJ is up for the fight though!

And so are we...as soon as we heard the news we spoke with fellow artist, Craig Drake, with the idea of creating a print to help AJ's cause. We decided to focus on one of his favorite characters, Trinity, because Trinity is a fighter just like AJ. 100% of proceeds from this sale will benefit AJ.

Please join AJ with us in her battle against cancer by either purchasing this Trinity II benefit print or by making a direct donation to her Go Fund Me campaign, to help support AJ and her family through this difficult time. Any amount would be greatly appreciated, no matter how big or small. Let's help AJ kick cancer's ass!
