Cosplay for SDCC 2016 Progress Report
« on: June 02, 2016, 01:54:30 PM »
Hello everybody! Since SDCC is next month, I'm curious as to how my fellow forum members are doing in regards to cosplay prepping for the con. What will you be dressing up as? Are you currently finishing on a cosplay? Have you yet to start one?

I am lazy this year and haven't made a new cosplay. I'll be wearing my older ones.

I did get a new Batman dress, which I'll wear to the Sunday Night dinner!

I'm sort of recycling since I wore my Killer Frost to Wondercon and my Agent Carter to Dapper Day, but it will be their SDCC debuts, and I've also added a few details to each. I also still want to do a season 6 Margaery Tyrell, but this Sunday is the first time she'll be in a real dress so that's cutting it pretty close.

She has a blue dress. You can see it here.

Thanks, [member=314]Transmute Jun[/member]! I clicked through the photo post from WotW that mlgagne linked in the GoT thread yesterday, but the only pic of her I saw was the one where she's hugging Olenna and only her sleeve is visible. This is much better!

Although, wow. Apparently her conversion has extended to her costumes. Dang that dress is ugly. But an easy pattern... hmm...

Speaking of Margaery Tyrell, I'll mention that it literally JUST dawned on me about 3 hours ago that I still need to have my Cersei cosplay dry cleaned, and I need to purchase my make-up and prosthetics for Stoneheart. So this thread probably just saved me a world of future stress  :D

Hmm...maybe it will be more flattering in the episode on Sunday? It is quite conservative compared to her other dresses...

Yes, and I believe that's the point. No more open-to-the-naval gowns for Margary! At least, for now. That will be more 'comfortable' to wear at the con than her usual dress!

Sheesh I am so behind!!! I want to add on to my Sailor Moon/Harley Quinn mash up cosplay, order the rest of what I need for my Lara Croft debut, and if I want to do a third day of cosplay I'll do Storm again.

Dear lord I forgot to add my plans for this year's SDCC. Anyways, I'll be bringing back my Ms. Marvel and will be bringing my Kylo Ren cosplay for its SDCC debut. Wore Kylo at Fanime but I need to remake the under jacket with thinner material to withstand the San Diego heat. Those pleated sleeves are so tedious!

My Agent Hartley cosplay from Agents of SHIELD is finished and my other cosplay of Ruby Knowby from Ash vs Evil Dead is basically finished; waiting on the spandex pants to get in the mail.

Onion #1 and his friend will be dressed as characters from Fallout. I had a custom made Wonder Woman dress made with some cool custom cuffs last year, but I get to wear Graphitti Designs shirts each day, sooooooo......it sits in my closet. Well, I will be wearing the cuffs! I'm trying to get onion #2 to wear it, but she said no way. She and her beau are dressing up as characters from Bob's Burgers.

Still waiting for the base of my costume to arrive. Hoping it comes this week. I have also decided I am not going to use any accessories like weapons or helmets or harnesses. It'll get too hot and be annoying to carry around all day.
What are you, Worf? Do you tremble and quake with fear at the approach of combat? Hoping to talk your way out of a fight like a Human? Or do you hear the cry of the warrior, calling you to battle, calling you to glory like a Klingon?

Props are tough. I carried a cane and it was ok for the day but when I tried out my towel for Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy I went with a hand towel to just rest over my shoulder and not bug me.
