Panelists examine the history and trajectory of women working inside feature and TV animation to bring to light some great hidden figures in our past. These inspiring women have shown invention and creativity and are expanding the industry. Scheduled to appear are Marge Dean (co-president, WIA; supervising producer, SuperMansion), Mindy Johnson (film historian; author, Ink & Paint: The Women of Disney Animation), Victoria Ying (visual development, Wreck-It Ralph, Frozen, Moana), Shadi Petosky (writer/producer, Danger & Eggs; founder, Puny Studios), Julia Vickerman (writer, The Powerpuff Girls; director, RAD Lands, Twelve Forever), and Elaine Bogan (director, Trollhunters, Dragons: Race to the Edge). Halon Entertainment presents a deep dive behind the artistic and technical visual effects tour de force War for the Planet of the Apes. VFX producer and film co-producer Ryan Stafford, previs and postvis supervisor A. J. Briones, and Halon Entertainment lead/sup Casey Pyke will take the audience through the process of creating the monumental battle between Caesar and the army of humans that will determine the fate of both of their species and the planet. You'll also be treated to exclusive behind-the-scenes material.

Take a fascinating journey into the minds of the industry's most imaginative! Expert panelists Kim Steadman (engineer, NASA-JPL), Kieran Dickson (editor, CometTV.com, MGM Studios), Fon Davis (Star Wars production designer), Travis Langley (editor, Star Wars Psychology), Steve Huff (fight choreographer and weapons expert), Eliot Sirota (VFX expert), and host Jenna Busch (creator, Legion of Leia) act as your Bor Gullet into the mind of Star Wars creators and break down the science behind a galaxy far, far away. Hollywood Location Scouts   
Room 9 

They found Tatooine in Tunisia, Vulcan in Utah, Middle-earth in New Zealand, and King's Landing in Croatia. Working alongside directors and production designers, location scouts are the visual artists who bring forth every place that you see on the screen. Six location scouts will discuss the creative and logistical aspects of their jobs, relate some exciting anecdotes, and answer audience questions. Moderator Scott Trimble (The Mummy, Justice League) joins Location Managers Guild International panelists Kokayi Ampah (Million Dollar Baby, The Shawshank Redemption), Robert Foulkes (La La Land, Terminator 2: Judgment Day), Shani Orona (Logan, Sicario), Laura Sode-Matteson (Jurassic World 2, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End), and Tommy Woodard (Westworld, Terminator Genisys).

Stuntmen/women Esteban Cueto , James Gerardi, Brian Danner, Bryan McGowan, Patricia Tallman, Jessie Graff, and others discuss their experiences and offer advice in getting into and navigating the stunt industry in movies and TV, as well as how the industry has changed and is changing. Moderated by Eric Cajiuat.

Life is like a hurricane on the new DuckTales series for Disney XD. Series stars David Tennant (Doctor Who, Jessica Jones), Ben Schwartz (House of Lies, Parks and Recreation), Kate Micucci (Garfunkel and Oates, Don't Think Twice), Danny Pudi (Community, Powerless), and Beck Bennett (Saturday Night Live, Sing) join creative team Matt Youngberg (executive producer), Frank Angones (co-producer/story editor), and Sean Jimenez (art director) to share exclusive sneak peeks and talk about what it's like bringing this classic family of adventuring ducks to a new generation of fans.

The 29th annual Eisner Awards (the "Oscars" of the comics industry) honor comics creators and works in 30 categories. Presenters for the gala ceremony include actor/comedian Danny Pudi (Community), writer/actor Thomas Lennon (Reno 911), actor Sam Witwer (Being Human), Wonder Woman movie scribe Jason Fuchs, actress Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina the Teenage Witch), iZombie creator Chris Roberson, Watchmen co-creator Dave Gibbons, British TV host Jonathan Ross, and Comic-Con special guests Gail Simone, Brian Selznick, Jonathan Maberry, and Paul Dini. Other prestigious awards to be given out include the Russ Manning Promising Newcomer Award, the Bob Clampett Humanitarian Award, the Bill Finger Award for Excellence in Comics Writing, and the Will Eisner Spirit of Comics Retailer Award.
