Wonder what could be screened there this year? Spider-man comes out before the con.  I can't think of anything due in late July.

Valerian would be an awesome choice, comes out 7/21.

I'm thinking Edgar Wright's new film Baby Driver is a strong possibility

I'd say there is a very good chance this will have a screening or two.

Warner Brothers always has a screening. Maybe Annabelle 2?

What about The Dark Tower? That would be cool.

Normally I put a list of movies together so I looked through and just decided to do it now :P.

Valerian
Dunkirk
Atomic Blonde
Emoji Movie (pls god no)
Annabelle 2
Nut Job 2
Baby Driver

Panels make sense but prolly too far away for showings:
Kingsman 2
Lego Ninjago
IT reboot
Blade Runner 2049
My Little Pony
Justice League
Thor: Ragnarok (D23 so prolly not)
Coco (D23 so prolly not)
Star Wars: The Last Jedi (D23 so prolly not)
Jumanji reboot
Maze Runner: The Death Cure
The Predator
Black Panther (D23 so prolly not)
Pacific Rim: Uprising
Deadpool 2
Wreck it Ralph 2 (D23 so prolly not)
Tomb Raider
Ready Player One.

That takes us to March 2018... there could be other movies but there's plenty in there for a very solid SDCC this year.

With all of the delays and back and forths with the Dark Tower I had completely forgotten about it. If I had to choose I would still vote Valerian, since it still predates even the first draft of The Gunslinger. (But The Dark Tower would still be awesome.)

I don't think Dunkirk will be shown beforehand as it comes out the weekend of SDCC.

I'd place money on Annabelle 2 making an appearance though.
Also because Baby Driver has already screened in the US, I'd say there is a good chance for that as well.
It will be too early for the Kingsman 2.

You're prolly correct about Dunkirk.  The only reason I put it up there was because Interstellar came a few years back, and since WB always has a huge presence, maaaaaaaybe they try to sneak in a screening on Thursday night.

Would really love it if Dark Tower came. I really need to re-read the series, maybe while I wait in line at SDCC  ;)

How much have they even filmed for Dark Tower?  For some reason I thought that was still in the earlier stages of production.  I may just be out of the loop.

Also, I've read at least a dozen Stephen King books, but not that series.  I should maybe fix that before it comes out.

But looking at the film list, please oh please oh please bring Pacific Rim.  PLEASE.  If there is an SDCC God please grant this wish.

They finished filming last July but it's been in post-production. It was originally supposed to release this Feb but they pushed it to July 28th.

It's good to go into the DT series having read lots of other King books, won't give away much but many characters from other stories find their way into the series.

All his books tie in to one another..... but the DT series really brings it home.

You will definitely get more out of the DT series if you have read a lot of Kings works prior.  They will stand alone just fine, but when you know how many different story lines he manages to tie together, it is mind blowing!  It's almost like he sat down in the 70's and planned it all out for the next 30 years, LOL
