Museum of Ice Cream?
« on: September 14, 2017, 07:37:25 PM »
This is opening in San Francisco soon and they are selling some more tickets tomorrow. We were able to snag some in the last sale (for my daughter's birthday) and I was wondering if people had been to the one in New York or Los Angeles. Curious to hear how it was and roughly how long it took to go through.

Only museum of ice cream I know anything about is the one in my digestive system.

We were just able to get tickets for Sunday, January 14. I was aiming for a Sunday because I didn't want there to be any possibility of a SDCC badge sale that day!

Nice! We're going in early October, I'll let you know how it is. (The museum, not [member=2226]Mel[/member] 's digestive system ;) )

Yeah, I can do without that second part (no offense, Mel ;) ).

I just went to look and January and February are no longer even on the calendar.

I know there's a clever response I should make ... I got nothing, happy Friday everyone!

Still see some tickets for November and December, which is kind of surprising, I wonder why the second sale?. Also found this on the FAQ "Museum of Ice Cream is designed to be ~45 minutes of FUN!"

Okay-saw "Museum of Ice Cream" and immediately clicked! Yes please! Once inside, we have somehow gone horribly off topic to colonoscopies... lmao!

We're just one big family :)

I need to call and get clarification on the ticketing, but it seems like only one person whose name you gave has to go through? Hoping so so that my daughter can take another friend, otherwise it's me and five 13-14 year old girls.

I think it's you and the girls. The person whose name is on the ticket must be there to redeem it. I think this is to prevent scalping.

At least you'll have ice cream!

My fellow Bay Area Peeps!!! Funny, didn't realize this would warrant a thread so was taken back to see it!

Anyways, I missed the very initial sale when it first opened so got on their newsletter but at $38 a ticket was just not sure. Anyways, I gave in and figured though you only live once and it's local and there's been so much hype around it how can I not at least check it out. So I bought a couple of tickets for November 9 as a gift for my daughter's B-Day (on November 10). The 10th is a holiday (Veteran's Day) so we got late night tickets for the 9th.

So Mark please do give us a full run down and any tips that will help mine and TJ's experience more efficient and enjoyable!!!

Will do! I had no idea about this and only found out about it when it randomly popped up on Google maps while we had the thread going about places to eat near SFCC.

Now what to wear???

Just came back from Museum of Ice Cream in SF! The exhibits are pretty cool and the treats you get during the experience are delicious!

I think my only complaint is that the set up isn't quite spaced out. I also went to Color Factory too and I felt like I wasn't as rushed going through it compared to Museum of Ice Cream. That and Color Factory's ball pit is way better than the sprinkle pool.

Anyways, my friends and I still had fun and if anybody's wondering what they should wear when going here, two words: wear white. Seriously, white will match any of the rooms easily.

I'm not getting the 'wear white' comment... is this to look good in photos?

Yup! I mean you don't have to but I know a lot of the people that we were grouped with were talking about how they tried to pick the right outfit that would work in photos and by the end of it we all sort of came up with the conclusion that white worked best with the backsplash of the rooms. I personally didn't wear white but I sort of wished I did.
