No, I can never get away for Labor Day weekend. I'd love to go

At least with this one, I could drive and it wouldn't be as much of a production

I gotta make sure I don't spend too much money at SDCC. New York is an affordable bus ride away and I just checked Google Maps and my cousin's place is a 30 minute walk from the Javits Center.
What are you, Worf? Do you tremble and quake with fear at the approach of combat? Hoping to talk your way out of a fight like a Human? Or do you hear the cry of the warrior, calling you to battle, calling you to glory like a Klingon?

I might add it to my list. It will depend on a few things but it does sound interesting.

Not really a Star Trek fan, but it's a Reed Pop event so I'm kind of contemplating on it.

it's got my interest for a couple of reasons....

RP did an interesting show with SW-
i'm guessing they'll be able to pull in the top talent, old and new
i'm hoping to hear abt ST4 assuming ST3 coming out during sdcc makes lots of money

I'd love to attend, to see how they do it, compared to Creation, who does the majority of other ST cons. But there's just no way I can fly across the country over Labor Day weekend.

Still trying to figure out if this is a Traveling Show (like Celebration), always in NY, or a one shot

The reason I think it could be a one shot is because of the the logo and whatnot advertise it as the 50th anniversary, which it is, just that that seems like something you would play up when you only plan on one show

Though I am more inclined to think this could be a traveling show since it is ST: Mission NY, so then another year it will be ST: Mission Texas or ST Mission Chicago...

I was really excited about this and contemplating taking my dad, who introduced me to Star Trek when I was little... until Alyssa's comment reminded me about the new movies, lol. I hated them so much I mentally removed them from my ST headcanon, I think. If this con tilts heavily toward the new stuff (and why wouldn't it, I'm sure that's a bigger draw right now), then I'm not interested.

Oh well, I didn't need to spend that kind of money anyway.  ::)

Oh please! You have NYCC and DragonCon and even C2E2 (much closer to you than to me).

But yes, the West coast has some great cons too. ;)
