I was at NYCC also, he is wrong, not sure why he would say it was the same.
Here is a review of the NYCC version.

Well... he wasn't wrong about the details? He got all those right. This was before anyone at SDCC was able to do it let alone talk about it.

Could it have been like the Mr. Robot offsite at SDCC. 99% of the people had one experience. 1% had another.

The press got to do SDCC Westworld on Wednesday, maybe he was press.
But it still doesn't explain why he said it was the same as the one they had at NYCC.
There were reviews from the press on Wednesday night as well maybe he saw those and assumed it was the same as the NYCC one.
Anyway he gave false information, if this current version of the offsite comes to NYCC it will not be the same as the vr version of last year.
And I will try to be first in line for it.

I don't know about the NYCC event, but my Thursday AM event pretty exactly matched the press night experience described on the SDCCblog.  I am suspecting that things got more flexible as the weekend ran on- and possibly they didn't have enough of one color hat over another?

Figured this would be a better place to post this than the general review thread. While I wish I took more photos while going through the experience, I did capture one that I didn't think much of at that time, but is now my wallpaper after I played around a little with the filters. At first I hated the grainy texture but now I think it actually help captures that old-timey, saloon feel:

People have posted videos of the experience on youtube. Have a look if you are interested. As with all these things, it's better in one's imagination. At least it is for me. Perhaps it's best to save the magic in case it indeed is a roadshow and another opportunity shows up to experience it firsthand.
