Week in TV 8/29: Get serious, clear out the stacked up shows + The Strain returns!

By: DRWHO42 & Alyssa

It’s the calm before the storm and a lull before the fall TV season starts in September. As we head into the holiday weekend this is the perfect time to cozy up on the couch for a binge-fest to start clearing up space for what is shaping up to be a busy fall full of great content. The highlight for this week are the 3rd season premiere of The Strain and couple of programs which we highlighted in Blue on the list that are products of NBC’s “Playground”. “Playground” is a program created by the network to funnel public sourced videos and ideas to generate shows for their network.

Here’s how it works:

We’ve highlighted the show premiering on NBC in Blue and embedded links to view them online.

Be on the lookout for a Special Edition of “What we’re Watching” in the coming weeks where we will layout out the entire Fall Premiere calendar for Geek/Pop-culture TV along with our top picks.

DRWHO42’s picks:
New: Stranger Things, The Strain
On-going: Mr. Robot (fell behind due to the Olympics)
Binge: Elementary

Alyssa’s picks:
New/Returning: The Strain
Watching live: BrainDead, Dark Matter, Fear the Walking Dead
Stacked up; Killjoys, Mr Robot, Last ship

Notable geek shows are highlighted in red.
