Netflix Library Update – April 2017

By: DRWHO42

Netflix released their monthly library update for April today and after perusing the list we noticed a few interesting additions as well as several notable departures.

Additions:
New additions this month include a mixture of new with a sprinkle of nostalgia. A Nightmare on Elm Street and Gremlins are the standouts on the list of new offerings in April. Recent movies such as Kubo and the Two Strings, Disney’s Queen of Katwe, and The Secret Life of Pets will certainly be entertaining for families. And finally, season 2 of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will be made available on the streaming platform.

The release of LoT is a departure from the approach previously used for series released on Netflix in which they add the season to the library a month (or a few weeks) prior the airing of the season premiere.

Last Call:
There several notable departures from Netflix on April 1st and they include: Angel, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Dollhouse, Firefly, The X-files, Roswell, and the Superman movie franchise from Superman: The Motion Picture through Superman Returns. Also on the list to depart is Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

All is not totally lost since there are still some time until April to binge your favorite series or film before it leaves Netflix (we hope they return sometime in the near future).
