Next Week in TV: Once upon many finales

By Alyssa and DRWHO42

The finale train continues to gather speed this week. The stories across the board for the episodes leading up the finales as well as the finales themselves have been great. There were a number of departures this past week and a lot more on the plate for this week including Agents of Shield, Blindspot, The Blacklist, Once Upon a Time,  Designated Survivor, and Supernatural – all of which will be returning to our TV screens next season.

There are a few new entries this week to highlight which include Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Mike Tyson Mysteries, Downward Dog, and 12 Monkeys. Syfy is taking a special approach for 12 Monkeys by airing its entire 3rd season of the series in a special 3-day ‘bringe-a-thon’.

The network Upfront Presentations will occur this week and we will be a first glimpse at what the next season will hold and also start taking bets on the panels which may occur during SDCC. Leading up to the presentation there was a lot of buzz surrounding the renewal and cancellation news. Looking back at the past week in TV news there were a number of notable cancellations, however, the highlight of the week was Timeless – which was first cancelled on May 10th and then miraculously renewed 3 days later. This is a rare moved by a network and the fans rejoiced upon hearing the news that the series will return for another season.

Please be sure to check out our New Shows thread (click here), TV Renewals thread (click here), as well as our Cancellation thread (click here) on the FoCC forum for the latest updates. We are posting updates there as soon as we receive the news.

Alyssa bought her first comic at age 7 and was hooked. She has collected comics most of her life. Recently, she has branched out to comic art and books and the occasional Lego set. She goes to as many cons as she can and enjoys the 'long form' storytelling of the television medium. She is also a foodie and is always up for trying new and different food.
