ECCC Offers Programming for Educators at Seattle Public Library

by Transmute Jun

Emerald City Comic Con (ECCC) recently released part of its programming schedule (through the ECCC app) for the 2018 con, to be held March 1-4. However, ReedPop has just announced additional ECCC programming to be held at the Seattle Public Library (at 1000 4th Ave., a 10 minute walk from the convention center) for educators and librarians on the first day of the convention, Thursday, March 1. The programming will be focused on social justice, competency, and diversity, with panels hosted by publishers such as Boom! Studios, First Second Books, Valiant, and Penguin Random House, as well as The American Library Association.

This is a welcome addition to ECCC, similar to Trade Day at GenCon, and Professional Day at the New York Public Library at New York Comic Con, both of which also offer a full day of programming specifically for educators and librarians.

Educators and librarians who are interested in attending must have a ECCC professional badge, which can be obtained for free by applying here. Professional badges give access to all 4 days of the con.
