While many San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) 2018 attendees are currently sweating it out, waiting for the hotel lottery on April 4, those who live locally, or have made arrangements for an Early Bird Hotel, have a different priority: parking. For those who cannot walk or take a shuttle to the convention center, parking is an all-important aspect of their con. Each year, Ace Parking sells spots in the downtown garages (with the Convention Center garage and the Hilton Bayfront garage being the most popular) for attendees. To purchase a guaranteed spot, attendees must participate in the parking lottery.
To enter the parking lottery, attendees must sign up here. Note that in the past, the lottery has had issues with multiple entries. To limit such entries this year, a valid credit card will be needed for each entry. The card will not be charged, but will be checked for validity.
Attendees have until April 22 to sign up for the parking lottery. This means that those who are unsuccessful in the hotel lottery and have to take lodging out of downtown will have their results in time to enter, should they choose to do so. The parking lottery will be conducted on April 23, with participants being notified of the results shortly thereafter. The staggered sales for parking spots will begin on May 1.
Ace has posted more information on their Comic Con FAQ.
