Con attendees were buzzing this spring about next year’s con-fluence of events. At the end of March, C2E2, WonderCon, Planet Comicon and Silicon Valley Comic Con (SVCC) all announced that their 2019 conventions would be taking place on March 29-31, 2019. Fans who were used to attending these shows were disappointed and frustrated, knowing that they would only be able to see one of them next year.
As a newer con, SVCC received some negative feedback from attendees and exhibitors, who would be unable to be present at SVCC that weekend. The timing of WonderCon was especially significant, since that con is also in California. SVCC officials have announced that they have listened to this feedback and have moved next year’s con to late summer. SVCC 2019 has been officially re-scheduled for August 16-18.
While the change moves SVCC to a completely different time of year, many fans are relieved that they will now not have to miss one of their favorite cons to attend another. If you are now able to attend SVCC 2019, badges are already on sale.
I know that I’m looking forward to being at SVCC 2019. Do you plan to attend? Join the conversation on the FoCC forums!
