Next Week in TV 7/1: Power and Fireworks

By DRWHO42, Mario Wario, and Alyssa

Independence Day is this week, thus the summer season is in full swing. Yet with the  approaching holiday, the networks will be light in the content arena; however, there will be plenty of new content hitting the streaming platforms, such as Netflix. In fact, streaming will be ideal to find that new and interesting film/series when relaxing at home this week, or in the car in-between barbecues.

To get you going, here are a few suggested picks for this week:

Netflix – Lost in Space, The Last Jedi, and The Sinner (Season 1)
Hulu – The League of Gentlemen, The Liberians (Season 4), and Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure
Amazon Prime – V for Vendetta, and The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension

As for the week ahead, on Sunday, Power returns for a 5th season on STARZ, while The Tunnel is back for a 3rd season on PBS. On Friday, this day will see a huge content drop from Netflix, so do take a look at the listing below to see what will catch your interest. Finally, 12 Monkeys wraps up its current run with a 2-hour series finale on Syfy.

And like that, it is time to look forward to the Fourth of July, without any space aliens attacking us of course. Until next week, have a safe and happy Independence Day, everyone!
