SDCC and WonderCon 2019 Professional Applications Now Open

by Transmute Jun

Even as we are preparing for the rapidly approaching San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) on July 19-22 (with Preview Night on July 18), Comic Con International (CCI) is already preparing for 2019. Professional applications (for those professionals whose credentials are ‘due’) for WonderCon and SDCC 2019 are now open.

In addition to opening the applications early, CCI has changed the professional badge system. There will no longer be ‘trade professionals’ and ‘creative professionals’, but rather all qualified applicants will simply be known as ‘professionals’. All professionals will have the same level of access. Additionally, educators and librarians now qualify as professionals, thanks to CCI’s commitment as a non-profit educational organization.

To determine if you need to apply for professional status, login to your Member ID account and look under the Professionals tab. Your status will be DUE or NOT DUE (first time applicants will have no status displayed). If you are DUE (or are a first-time applicant), then you must reapply for 2019 as a professional.

Although you may wish to focus on the 2018 con right now, you should act fast to apply. 2019 professional applications are due by August 16, 2018. Those who wish to apply can access the application here.
