Next Week in TV 9/30: Fall TV is Ramping Up

By DRWHO42, Mario Wario, and Alyssa

The fall TV season is off to a great start with the epic return of The Gifted, 9-1-1, and The Big Bang Theory, along with the new offerings such as Manifest, Magnum P.I., and FBI. Of the new TV shows that aired last week, Manifest has defiantly left an good impression on us. If you have not had a chance to check out the first episode, we recommend giving the series a shot.

The week ahead will be a mixture of finales/premieres starting off with the 4th season finale of Fear the Walking Dead. This season has been an emotional roller coaster with the deaths of two main characters, as well as the addition of a few new faces that include the character Morgan from the main Walking Dead show. So far, each season has had its own look and feel along with a few new settings, which brings a set of whole new challenges for the gang that they must overcome. This season has already been a doozy thanks to a hurricane bringing ‘flying zombies’, overflowing rivers filled with hungry alligators, and a deranged woman who has an interesting way to make people “stronger”.

Moving along, the animation block on Fox returns tonight with the season premieres of The Simpsons which will be celebrating its 30th season (impressive milestone!), Bob’s Burgers, and Family Guy. Wednesday, meanwhile, will see the return of the multiple Chicago-based series on NBC.

Other notable returns this week are NCIS, Fresh off the Boat, Law & Order: SVU, The Man in the High Castle, Will & Grace, and The Good Place.

Friday night will feature a mixture of stars, zombies and vampires, thanks to the returns of Z Nation and Van Helsing on Syfy. Capping off the night is the Graham Norton Show, which will feature Jodie Whittaker prior to her TV debut as the New Doctor on this upcoming Doctor Who season.

Looking ahead to next weekend, Sunday will be a day to clear your plans with the return of Doctor Who and the season premiere of The Walking Dead.

Of course, the TV conversation does not end here. Please click here to visit the FoCC forum to let us know what you have been enjoying so far this season, and what you are looking forward to as well.
