Next Week in TV 1/27: Mysteries abound with ‘I Am the Night’ and ‘The ABC Murders’

By DRWHO42, Mario Wario, & Alyssa

We are down to the final week before the Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots duke it out in Superbowl LIII. To mark the occasion the superstars of the NFL will gather for the Pro Bowl on Sunday. There will be tons of NFL and football specials throughout the week that includes great plays of past Super Bowls to the best commercials aired during the big game. We have a few of these specials listed in this week’s TV schedule, so don’t forget to take a look.

Looking back to last week, Manifest continues to keep viewers interested and on their toes. This week was no exception with an unexpected twist which, if you haven’t seen it yet, threw the mystery surrounding Flight 828 on its head. Meanwhile, Black Lightning and The Gifted are also offering great escapes right now.

The return of Strike Back did not disappoint and the new team, which include stars Warren Brown, Daniel MacPherson and Alin Sumarwata, have settled into their roles perfectly thus far. The additional bonus is the backdrop of Malaysia, which has made this new season very interesting to watch. As always, this series does not hold back on the action; it’s a recommended pick to cap off the work week.

As for the rest of this week, we recommend adding I Am the Night and The ABC Murders to your viewing list. I Am the Night is a six-episode limited series based on true events starring Chris Pine (Star Trek, Wonder Woman) and is directed by Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman 2). A podcast will also be launched this week as a tie-in for the series titled Root of Evil: The True Story of the Hodel Family and the Black Dalia.

The ABC Murders is set back in the early 20th century with John Malkovich taking on the role of master sleuth Hercule Poiriot. Based on what we saw in the trailer, this show will be a fascinating watch; the story itself will keep us entertained.

Lastly, the 5th season finale for Vikings airs this week and, unfortunately for fans, this means we will have one more season left to go.

That’s all for this week, however, the conversation does not end here. Please join us on the FoCC forum to discuss the week in TV.
