Next Week in TV 2/24: It’s Time to get Ready for the Oscars, ‘The Gifted’ Season Two Finale, and More

By Scott, DRWHO42, & Alyssa

Get ready Oscar fans because the 91st annual Academy Awards is today!

On Sunday, E! and ABC will televise from the red carpet to show the arrival of Hollywood’s best. All the action will happen at the Dolby Theatre, which is in Los Angeles, California, and the main event will be televised live on ABC, starting at 8 p.m. ET. Fans can also watch the Oscars on ABC.go.com/ABC app, or someplace else that will stream it. For more information, click here.

By the way, this year’s Oscars has no host (Kevin Hart dropped out in December; past controversial tweets came back to haunt him), so audiences will see a group of presenters throughout the night. The last time this happened was in 1989.

It could be a great night for Marvel, because Black Panther has a shot in winning best picture and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is the favorite to win the best animated movie award. Meanwhile, Avengers: Infinity War could win best visual effects, and let’s not forget that Black Panther was nominated for other categories as well. Overall, let the 2019 Oscars begin!

A new series called The Enemy Within will premiere on Monday, February 25th at 10 p.m. ET (NBC). This new drama is about an FBI agent trusting a former (traitorous) CIA operative in order to catch a spy. Meanwhile, American Dad will be celebrating its 250th episode at the same time on TBS.

Fox’s The Gifted will say goodbye to season two on Tuesday, February 26th at 9 p.m. ET. (As of right now, there has been no official word regarding the status of season three.)

WGN’s Gone (9 p.m. ET) and ABC’s Whiskey Cavalier (10 p.m. ET) will debut on Wednesday, February 27th. In Gone, an FBI agent creates a special team dedicated in finding missing people, while Whiskey Cavalier is about an FBI agent teaming up with a current CIA operative so they can save the world. Fans of Lauren Cohan (The Vampire Diaries, The Walking Dead) and Scott Foley (Felicity, Scandal) will have a blast knowing that these two stars are in the new ABC show.

Syfy’s new animated series called Alien News Desk will also premiere Wednesday at 11 p.m. ET. Basically, it’s about Earth’s news and how the universe makes fun of the planet.

Fast-forwarding to Friday, March 1st: Kate Beckinsale (Underworld, Total Recall) has a new TV series debuting on Amazon called The Widow. This new show is about a wife trying to solve her husband’s disappearance.
