Fans of Wynonna Earp can rejoice as IDW Entertainment, SEVEN24 Films, Space, and SYFY announced today that Wynonna Earp has been given the green light to begin filming Season 4 with an expected premiere date in the summer of 2020. The road to the renewal of Season 4 had been bumpy for this fan-favorite series. While SYFY has continually supported the series, the financial problems of IDW Entertainment had put the series production in jeopardy. However, with the involvement of additional partners, the fourth season is a go.
The series stars Melanie Scrofano (Bad Blood) as the great, great-granddaughter of the famous lawman Wyatt Earp. The action-packed supernatural sci-fi series also stars Tim Rozon (Schitt’s Creek) as Doc Holliday, Dominique Provost-Chalkley (Avengers: Age of Ultron) as Waverly Earp, and Katherine Barrell (Working Moms) as Nicole Haught.
Wynonna Earp is an action-packed series that has been nominated for several awards including the Canadian Screen Awards, GLAAD Media Awards, Directors Guild of Canada, Writers Guild of Canada and Alberta Film & Television Awards. it won the 2018 People’s Choice Award for Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show. However, without a doubt, the series is best known for its fervent fan base that has arranged conventions around the world as well as for their efforts in raising money for LGBTQ charities.
While the exact time for the Wynonna Earp panel was not known at press time, there will be a Wynonna Earp panel at SDCC 2019 with the following cast and crew: Melanie Scrofano, Katherine Barrell, Greg Lawson (Sheriff Nedley), Emily Andras (executive producer) and Beau Smith (comic book creator of Wynonna Earp).
