SDCC 2020 Returning Registration Gets Fans Excited

by Transmute Jun

San Diego Comic Con 2019 (SDCC) occurred less than 3 months ago, yet fans were eager to look forward to 2020 when Comic Con International (CCI) held the SDCC 2020 returning registration badge sale on the morning of Saturday, October 12. Returning registration is the pre-sale for fans who attended SDCC 2019 on a paid badge. Open registration, which is available to all, will be held at a later date, likely before the end of 2019.

Although SDCC 2020 isn’t for 9 months (July 23-26, 2020, with Preview Night scheduled for July 22), buying badges is the start of the run-up to the 2020 event. Many regular attendees look forward to the con all year, and are eager to begin their planning. As such, the early registration dates are much appreciated by fans.

As usual, Preview Night sold out first, followed by Saturday and Friday. Thursday and Sunday badges were the last to sell out.

Preview Night – 9:21 am

Saturday – 9:41 am

Friday – 9:48 am

Thursday – 9:56 am

Sunday – 9:59 am

The badge sale for 2019 ended faster than usual, leading some people to think that perhaps fewer badges were allocated for the returning registration sale last year. While Preview Night and Saturday sold out at about the same time as last year, Friday, Thursday and Sunday took a little longer than the SDCC 2019 returning registration sale.
