Next Week in TV 11/3: It’s a GREAT week to be a kid!

By Alyssa, DRWHO42, and Scott

As the title indicates, there’s two promising new kid-friendly animation series, and the return of Netflix’s blockbuster She-ra and the Princesses of Power is on our radar this week. The reportedly stunning adaptation of Dr Seuss’s Green Eggs and Ham follow the beloved characters on a road trip that has been likened to the classic 1987 movie Plans, Trains and Automobiles. The stunning cast of Adam DeVine, Michael Douglas, Diane Keaton, Tracy Morgan and Keegan-Michael Key as the Narrator, are sure to provide depth to the gorgeous visuals. Another animated/kid-friendly series we’re interested in is The Rocketeer. While it doesn’t have the star power or literary chops of Green Eggs and Ham, the animation and fun nature of the series encourages giving it a look.

The last, more adult-centric new show with a decidedly ‘kid’ twist is HBO’s His Dark Materials. From review, “Based on the religiously skeptical trilogy by Philip Pullman, is a story about witches and giant polar bears, magic (or quasi-magic) dust and actual spirit animals … it is a story about parallel worlds, alike and yet wildly different, separated by an imperceptible barrier: the worlds of childhood and adulthood.” We ‘hearty recommend’ giving this series a go this Monday night! The cast is fantastic, as are the visuals and story.

The End of The F***ing World returns this week, as well as many more series returning this week. Yet FX’s Mayans M.C. wraps up its season on Tuesday. We also say a final goodbye to the PBS show The Durrells in Corfu and Showtimes’ The Affair.

One last plug for our favorite series is Amazon’s Jack Ryan, as season two is out now which means it’s binge worthy! We don’t know about our readers, but we are overwhelmed by the amount of series stacked up on our DVR’s, thanks to the recent launch of Apple TV+, the other streaming services showcasing their own shows, and let’s not forget that Disney+ will be launching this November 12th. Overall, it’s time for some serious binging!

That is it for now. What will you be watching this week? Do let us know when visiting the FoCC forum, and we hope you all have a great week ahead!

Alyssa bought her first comic at age 7 and was hooked. She has collected comics most of her life. Recently, she has branched out to comic art and books and the occasional Lego set. She goes to as many cons as she can and enjoys the 'long form' storytelling of the television medium. She is also a foodie and is always up for trying new and different food.
