What I Want for Christmas 2019

by Transmute Jun

After San Diego Comic Con in the third week of July, the December holidays are my favorite week of the year. No matter which holidays you celebrate, chances are that you will be doing some gift-giving and receiving this holiday. While the joy is in the giving, there is always something special that we want to receive as well. As has become tradition  at the FoCC Blog, I conducted an informal survey of our staff, trying to find out what items are on their wish lists this year. Some of our wants included:

  • Storage bins for our comics
  • Anything with Baby Yoda on it (plushies preferred)
  • A snowblower (perhaps Chewbacca-themed?)
  • Front-load frames for our posters
  • A new gaming monitor for all of the cool games being released
  • A new, cushy office chair
  • Comfy walking shoes for next year’s cons
  • A subscription to CBS All-Access so that we can binge Picard

Of course, part of the fun of making a wish list is dreaming big.

  • A monetary windfall to fund our con trips in style
  • All 9 seasons of The Expanse (So far we’re at 5 and counting!)
  • An improved second season for the 13th Doctor, as she deserves
  • A fourth season for The Orville
  • An expansion for the San Diego Convention Center

A couple of our last year’s ‘dreaming big’ items actually happened, such as a second season of Jack Ryan and a return to San Diego Comic Con for Conan O’Brien. We’ll keep the good vibes going to hope that this year’s ‘dreaming big’ wishlist can produce results in 2020!

Whatever occasions you celebrate, we at the FoCC Blog wish all of our readers a wonderful December, and hope that you get that special gift for which you are wishing, as well as a warm and safe holiday season with your family and friends. Happy Holidays!
