It’s been a tough week for comic con fans in the Pacific Northwest, and around the country. Emerald City Comic Con (ECCC), originally scheduled for March 12-15, has been postponed. The CoironaVirus outbreak in Washington state generated many concerns amongst Washington residents, as well as visitors to the state, enough that many guests, exhibitors and attendees were cancelling. Eventually, it all reached a tipping point, and ReedPop has now decided to postpone the convention
While a couple of days ago, it appeared that the the convention would be happening, the situation changed quickly, and this is the unfortunate result. Still, it is clear that ReedPop was working hard to satisfy fans who wanted to attend, while at the same time offering refunds to attendees and exhibitors who chose not to come to Seattle.
While there is no date set for the re-scheduled ECCC, ReedPop hopes to hold the convention in the summer. All badges for the 2020 show will be automatically refunded to the purchasers, as ill all autograph and photo-op purchases. There is no option to transfer badges to the postponed 2020 show or the 2021 event.
