WonderCon 2020 Delayed

by Transmute Jun

As Covid-19 continues to dominate news headlines, on March 11, the Governor of California issued a strong recommendation that all gatherings more than 250 people be canceled or postponed. Less than 12 hours later, WonderCon 2020, which was scheduled to be held April 10-12, has been delayed.

Comic Con International (CCI), which puts on WonderCon has stated that they are delaying the show in an effort to comply with the Governor’s recommendation. However, while they continue to monitor the situation, there is still no decision regarding San Diego Comic Con (SDCC), which is still planned for July 23-26. The following image can be seen on WonderCon’s official website.

While this news is frustrating to many, fall cons may reap the benefit of these delays, as fans will be eager to convene once more when such gatherings resume. Fans might just see cons such as DragonCon, New York Comic Con and Silicon Valley Comic Con receive more attention than ever.
