Next Week in TV 4/19: So long Saul

By DRWHO42, Scott, and Alyssa

All things, unfortunately, must come to an end and this month have seen the series finales of Hawaii Five-0 and Strike Back. This week we say so long to Will & Grace (for a second time) and Empire. There are a few more series which are destined to ride off into the sunset and this week we learned the return dates for Blindspot – April 30 – and Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD – May 27. All of these series have been exceptional and groundbreaking while establishing loyal fanbases.

There is some good news to report for fans of 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star as we learned this past Monday that both series have been renewed.

Looking ahead to this week, there are several season finales to prepare for including Better Call Saul, NCIS: New Orleans, Law & Order: SVU, Will & Grace, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Superstore.

There are also a few movies to add to your watch list this week, which may be a suitable departure from your standard series fare. Extraction, starring Chris Hemsworth, will be released on Netflix on Friday morning. HBO has never been shy of hard-hitting telemovies and Bad Education, which premieres this Saturday evening, is just that and it stars Hugh Jackman, Allison Janney, and Ray Romano. Bad Education tells the real-life story of a $11 million dollar embezzlement scheme that occurred in a prestigious school district in Roslyn, New York. The scandal gained headlines across the country when the news first broke, and based on the critical buzz from the film festivals the movie was screened, we would recommend adding this to your watch list.

Lastly, there is a little bit of a void with sports, however, on the positive front, the NFL Draft is set to kick off this Thursday evening, which will continue into the weekend. It will be interesting to see how the NFL teams will select this upcoming rookie class to fill their current and future needs.

That’s all for now. Stay safe and relax in the escape television has to offer this week!
