Surviving Isolation: Nerdist Book Club Takes on Dune

by Transmute Jun

While many con attendees are natural introverts, we still enjoy socializing with those who are part of our tribe. As summer cons get canceled, it may feel as if there is nowhere to share things, particularly the enjoyment of pop culture and the nerdy things we love.

Enter Nerdist Book Club. The show was launched on April 8 as a way for geeks to get together and share their love of books, even in social isolation. Their latest book up for analysis is the science fiction classic Dune, by Frank Herbert. Since this is a long book, and may seem intimidating at first glance, Nerdist Book Club will review it in smaller pieces, over 6 weeks of episodes.

Nerdist Book Club’s Dune series will stream live on the Nerdist YouTube channel, the Geek & Sundry YouTube Channel, and the Geek & Sundry Twitch Channel from 5-6pm PT on Wednesdays, beginning May 6, 2020.
