FoCC Reactor: Netflix’s Space Force Set to Launch

by Transmute Jun

Space, the final frontier… so it was for the intrepid explorers on the USS Enterprise, and now it is so for the US military.  While the real Space Force was created in December 2019, Netflix’s version is set to launch on May 29, 2020.

Created by Steve Carrell and Greg Daniels (The Office), Netflix’s Space Force  is a comedic take on the US military, as well as what, exactly, a Space Force might actually be doing.  Carrell plays Mark R. Naird, a four-star general caught off guard when he is selected to lead the newest branch of the armed forces. Naird is tasked with getting US boots back onto the moon (and achieving total space dominance) as soon as possible. Naturally, he and his colorful team of scientists and Spacemen run into difficulties, causing Naird to question his involvement.

In addition to Carrell, Space Force stars John Malkovich, Diana Silvers, Tawny Newsome, and Ben Schwartz, alongside co-stars Lisa Kudrow, Jimmy O. Yang, Noah Emmerich, Alex Sparrow and Don Lake.
