Next Week in TV 5/10: Outlander, The Flash, & The Blacklist say Adiós to Their Current Seasons, and More!

By Scott & DRWHO42

With May rolling along, it means it is time to get ready for the usual seasonal and series finales that annually attack May.

And let’s begin by mentioning that Outlander is wrapping up its fifth season on Sunday (May 10) on Starz, so don’t miss it if you are a fan of the series. Luckily a sixth season has already been confirmed long ago with twelve episodes ordered. Now according to Jamie himself (Sam Heughan) over on Twitter, production for season six will begin sometime in the fall thanks to the coronavirus pandemic currently happening. Production was originally supposed to begin right now in May. Lastly, do note that the sixth season will be drawing from the book A Breath of Snow and Ashes.

Then we have The Flash wrapping up its sixth season a bit sooner than expected this Tuesday night on The CW, thanks to the coronavirus pandemic shutting down the series’ production since mid-March. It was originally planned to have episode 22 to be the season finale, not episode 19. Luckily a seventh season is a full go, and hopefully, the coronavirus stops messing things up later for the series when production resumes.

Netflix’s She-Ra and the Princesses of Power series returns for a fifth and final season this Friday, while NBC’s The Blacklist also wraps up its seventh season later on Friday. If you want to know more about the seventh season of The Blacklist and how the producers finished it, please check out DRWHO42’s recent series article by clicking here

As for some recent TV news, here is a quick rundown:

According to Deadline, CBS has greenlit a Clarice Starling series titled Clarice, which stars Rebecca Breeds (Pretty Little LiarsThe Originals) as Clarice. The story itself will be set in 1993 after the events of The Silence of the Lambs. Look for the new series during the 2020-2021 TV season.

Also from Deadline, CBS has picked up two new series titled The Equalizer (with Queen Latifah) and B Positive (with Thomas Middleditch; Annaleigh Ashford). Do note that CBS has recently renewed twenty-three series thus far, with the network set to unveil its fall programming online on May 19.

CBS All Access is getting more streaming content from Viacom, as well as a new name later this summer, according to Variety.

According to THR, season two of The Mandalorian will have actor Temuera Morrison (Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, Aquaman) playing as Boba Fett! The same outlet is also reporting that Amazon has recently picked up the second season of Upload.

Also from THR, Michael Lesslie (The Little Drummer GirlMacbeth) will be the creator and writer for The Battlestar Galactica reboot series, while also serving as the series’ executive producer.
