By Scott, DRWHO42, & Alyssa

Need something to watch? If so, how about checking out Netflix’s Betaal that is about a select few unearthing an old curse and British soldier-zombies too! This brand-new series is out now on the streaming service.

A new player officially joins the streaming wars this Wednesday, and that player is WarnerMedia’s HBO Max. One show that is part of the launch is Looney Tunes Cartoons, starring your usual favorite ‘looney’ characters. This new series will feature a variety of shorts using a ”simple, gag-driven and visually vibrant stories,” for today’s fans of the characters.

To stream HBO Max, it is going to cost you $14.99 a month. But if you sign up before May 27, the new streaming service will cost $11.99 a month for the first year; with the cancellation option being available. HBO Now subscriber? If so, and using either Google Play, Samsung, Apple, Verizon Fios internet, Optimum, Consolidated Communications and Liberty Cablevision of Puerto Rico, you will get access to HBO Max at launch, with no additional cost included. Likewise, for customers of AT&T, DIRECTV, Hulu, Spectrum, Altice, Optimum, Suddenlink, Cox Contour, Verizon, and Fios TV (as well as for certain TV providers).

Then we have ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of Shield returning to action this Wednesday night for a seventh and final season. One particular member of the blog can’t wait to see how this final season will go. It will, however, be tough to say goodbye to this amazing series when the series finale hits our TVs eventually.

As for some movies, Amazon’s The Vast of Night debuts this Friday morning and it is about two people in 1950s New Mexico finding a ”strange audio frequency” that could change their lives for good.

Then there is the Netflix Space Force comedy series that is premiering this Friday morning, and it is about getting a Space Force up and running. For more information about the series itself, please click here.

As for some recent TV news there has been quite an active week in some regard to Batwoman as Ruby Rose decided to step away from the series. The creative team behind the series is currently working on recasting the title role for the series. Here is a here is a quick rundown of other notable news stories this week:

Netflix announced the second season premiere date for The Umbrella Academy (click here for our article), another Netflix series called Elite was renewed for a fourth season, FX’s What We Do in the Shadows will get a third season, Fox’s Prodigal Son will have a second season, ABC got their 2020-2021 TV season all setup (for more information about that, click here), while Freeform also did the same thing for their upcoming TV schedule (click here for more information about that).
