SiliCon 2020 Replaced with Upcoming Online Content

by Transmute Jun

While it sometimes feels like forever since COVID-19 came onto the scene and started impacting the lives of everyone in the country (in the world…), the dominoes from its effect are continuing to fall. SiliCon (formerly Silicon Valley Comic Con) has announced that they are unable to put on a physical event this year, and that this year’s show (originally scheduled for October 16-18, 2020) is no longer happening as an in-person convention. However, SiliCon will be hosting a number of online events, including one-on-one celebrity interviews and maker events. SiliCon Creative Director Adam Savage made the announcement via Youtube.

Fans who have already purchased tickets to the con will be offered the choice of refunds or rolling their badges over to next year’s event. Dates and scheduling for online content will be announced at a future time.
