SYFY WIRE After Dark

Get ready for a geektastic summer special on the SYFY channel this Saturday, August 1st at 11/10c! This 45-minute special will showcase many of the things we love, such as superheroes, comic books, favorite summer movies, as well as water toys to beat the heat. The program will be hosted by Jackie Jennings (and her talking cat sidekick, Mr. Scribbles), along with a variety of SYFY WIRE guests and correspondents, breaking down the debates and products that the fans need to know about.

This special will feature:

– A selection of the best comics to add to your pull list ,with expert Brian Silliman.

– An in-depth discussion on Wonder Woman’s side hustles, with comic book expert Angélique Roché.

– A 30th anniversary celebration of the super soaker and other water toys, with specialist Tom Neff.

– A deeper look into the origins and adaptation in the works for the classic comic The Sandman, with WIRE correspondent Whitney Moore.

– Matt Romano digging deeper into the symbology of Superman’s legendary symbol.

– Metalhead nerd Juan Cadavid breaking down the Dark Nights: Death Metal series from DC.

– A tribute with some light-hearted segments to the late, great robotics specialist and television personality, Grant Imahara.

Viewers will have the opportunity to instantly buy the products they see on screen (using both NBCUniversal Checkout and ShoppableTV), including such cool items as Dark Horse graphic novels, Superman and Sandman products from Graphitti Designs, and limited edition “Wonder Woman 1984” sunglasses!
