November is officially here, folks! That means that the holidays are quickly approaching, so you better get ready for that. Sure, we are in a pandemic right now, but do try to have some fun (safely!) when the holidays do hit.
As for this week in TV, we have the series debut of the PBS show Roadkill, which stars Hugh Laurie. The series itself is about a politician named Peter Laurence (Laurie) and the troubles that await him. If you want to watch it, you can catch the season one debut tonight (Sunday, November 1st; 9 p.m. ET) on PBS.
And speaking of politics, this Tuesday night is Election Night for the United States. As such, multiple networks will carry the election results, etc., so pick and choose and go from there. (Do check out the blog’s listing below for that night’s schedule.) Of course, don’t forget to vote if you haven’t already. The last day to do so is this Tuesday.
Thursday, November 5th, will see CBS’ Young Sheldon return for a 4th season at 8 p.m. ET. Before that, Netflix has a new international show to watch in the morning (EARLY) called Paranormal. As you can guess, it is about your typical paranormal stuff with a skeptical hematologist investigating the unexplained. So, go check it out if you like paranormal shows.
In television news this week, The CW announced the series return dates and they will be in 2021. Black Lightning will debut February 8th, Superman & Lois and The Flash will debut on February 23rd. We also got a few photos of Javicia Leslie in her new Batwoman batsuit on Twitter and the reaction from fans was very positive! The second season itself of Batwoman debuts January 17th, 2021.
HBO Max is bolstering their lineup with the announcement of the series adaption of the cult horror franchise Hellraiser. Clive Barker has joined the production as an executive producer, which is a very encouraging sign for fans. Also this week, the streamer signed a deal with Comedy Central, which will bring several series to your television, including The Chappelle Show to the platform. Speaking of David Chappelle, he will be hosting this weeks’ edition of Saturday Night Live.
Cancellations, meanwhile, have been coming in fast and furiously recently and this week FOX pulled the cancellation card for freshman series NeXt and Filthy Rich.
Lastly, news broke early Saturday morning of the passing of legendary film actor Sir Sean Connery. Over his many years of acting, fans have seen him establish iconic and memorable roles including Her Majesty’s Secret Service agent James Bond “007” to Dr. Henry Jones Sr. in Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, as well as other roles in The Untouchables, The Hunt for Red October, and Highlander. He was also a very charitable person in his support of his native Scotland including using some of his salary to establish a fund to help poor Scottish children get an education. He will be sadly missed.
So, what will you be watching? Let us know when visiting the FoCC forum!
