Next Week in TV 2/7: Super Charge Your Week With Black Lightning’s Return, and More!

By Scott C. & DRWHO42

So, with Super Bowl Sunday upon us now is the time to get those unhealthy foods and drinks ready (for yourself) for the football game itself, as well as to watch some ‘fluffy’ mayhem a few hours sooner! Yep, we cannot forget about the animals.

Before watching Super Bowl LV, how about checking out Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl XVII or Hallmark’s Kitten Bowl VIII at 2 p.m. ET. In the Puppy Bowl, you have Team Fluff and Team Ruff go for the Lombarky Trophy. In this year’s Kitten Bowl, you have four (4) kitten teams compete for the bowl’s championship trophy. Overall, enjoy the cuteness!

As for the humans, Super Bowl LV will have the defending champs Kansas City Chiefs going against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 6:30 p.m ET on CBS. The game will feature 43-year-old Tom Brady, who is playing in his 10th Super Bowl, which means he will go after that seventh ring, while 25-year-old Patrick Mahomes is shooting for his second Super Bowl ring. Of course, this year’s Super Bowl commercials will be there for all of us to enjoy, too.

Once football is over, at 10 p.m. ET, CBS’ The Equalizer debuts right after the game. It is about Robyn McCall (Queen Latifah), who is an “Enigmatic woman with a mysterious background, uses her extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn … who’s also dogged in her pursuit of personal redemption.”

On Monday, February 8th, we have the return of Black Lightning on The CW. The 4th season premieres at 9 p.m. ET, though, the upcoming season will be the last one.

On Thursday, February 11th, CBS’ Clarice series debuts at 10 p.m. ET. It is about FBI Agent Clarice Starling (Rebecca Breeds) working in 1993, with one year passed after the events of The Silence of the Lambs.

In television news, we learned that a WandaVision spinoff series on Jimmy Woo ‘might’ be happening eventually, while Netflix’s anime series Pacific Rim: The Black has a March 4th debut date. Wynonna Earp is ending on Syfy with six episodes wrapping up the series itself starting March 5th. Then we have news that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler co-hosting the 78th Golden Globes Awards but at different locations.

The CW has renewed many of its shows like The FlashRiverdaleDC’s Legends of TomorrowBatwoman, and many more. Lastly, Zack Snyder’s Justice League movie will be rated R.

Sadly, actor Christopher Plummer died last week at the age of 91. Plummer was good in all the movies he did, yet his performance was spectacular in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country as General Chang. Plummer played a Klingon who liked to use lines from various plays from Shakespeare. So please, do see Star Trek VI right away if you have not seen it yet, or see it again if you have. In general, rest in peace, Plummer.

Lastly, the rest of the TV schedule is listed below.

That is all for now. As always, please let us know what you will be watching when visiting the FoCC forum. You can also follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
