Next Week in TV 3/28: Fighting Crime from the Streets to the Air!

By DRWHO42 & Scott C.

The week ahead in television will have a lot to offer. We have superheroes in flight to detectives fighting crime on the streets of New York. Plus, an epic battle between two mega-sized monsters!?

But let’s begin by saying that the passengers on Snowpiercer have had a rough time this second season. So far, we have seen betrayals and conspiracies run rampant. Both have fractured the “One Train” mentality, courtesy of the conniving Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean). Monday night (9 p.m. ET) will be the two-hour second season finale which could contain a few surprises (and if you are a Sean Bean fan, you may be waiting with anticipated breath to see if he survives this finale or not). As for everyone else on the circumnavigating train, we should expect more unexpected drama ahead. The series has already been renewed for a third season.

Supergirl returns Tuesday night (9 p.m. ET) for its sixth and final season. Yes, we are sad to see this series coming to a close, so hopefully, other characters will pop up from time to time from the other DC superhero series to give Supergirl a proper send-off (hint … hint … Superman & Lois).

Wednesday will be a ‘huge’ day for Godzilla and King Kong fans alike everywhere, with the premiere of Godzilla vs. Kong on HBO Max and in theaters here in the United States. Millie Bobby Brown and Kyle Chandler return for this sequel from Godzilla: King of the Monsters. They will also be joined by actors Alexander Skarsgard and Lance Reddick. Overall, this is certainly a movie that you do not want to miss if you are a fan of either King Kong or Godzilla.

It has been almost one year since we watched the season two finale of Manifest. Luckily, this Thursday night sees the return with the season three premiere of the series debuting at 8 p.m. ET. Of course, there will be plenty of intrigue for the passengers of the long-lost-then-returned Flight 828 and the families left behind in the new episodes as the third season unfolds. This week will start with an artifact found during the second season finale, named the tailfin. Hopefully, NBC will renew the series for a fourth season, so we are not left hanging without any conclusions about the main story and the mystery behind Flight 828.

Christopher Meloni returns to NBC this week with his new series Law & Order: Organized Crime. The series will feature Melonie’s character, Detective Stabler, rejoining the NYPD, as he heads up a new task force to take down many crime syndicates. Joining him will be Dylan McDermott (American Horror Story) and Tamara Taylor (Bones). But before you tune in for Organized Crime, be sure to tune in one hour sooner for the special crossover episode Law & Order: SVU, which will kick off Detective Stabler’s return.

We are fast approaching the season finale for The Walking Dead, and if you are a subscriber, you will be able to view it early with AMC+. While we are on the subject of TWD, be sure to check out Transmute Jun’s episode review each week (click here for last week).

Resident Alien wraps its first season this week. We are very happy the series was given the greenlight for a second season. If you have not had the opportunity to check out this off-beat and very interesting series we recommend adding it to your viewing list.

In television news, CBS gave fans a huge gift of renewals of FBI and FBI: Most Wanted. The news did not stop there as the network announced a third series for the franchise, FBI: International.

George R.R. Martin signed a five-year deal with HBO, which may help secure his involvement in the expansion of the Game of Thrones franchise. Still, fans are anxiously waiting for his final book of the GOT book series.

Casting news and the premiere date for Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K was announced during the HULU panel at [email protected] The series, created by Jordan Blum (co-creator) and Patton Oswalt (co-creator and voice of M.O.D.O.K.), will premiere on May 21st. Special guest stars for the animated series were announced. It includes Jon Hamm (Iron Man), Whoopi Goldberg (Poundcake’s), Nathan Fillion (Wonder Woman), and Bill Hader (Angar the ScreamerThe Leader).

That is all for this week! Until next time, please let us know what you will be watching when visiting the FoCC forum. You can also follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
