Next Week in TV 4/11: Victorians With Superpowers in The Nevers and Fear The Walking Dead Returns
By DRWHO42 & Scott C.
Spring is in full swing and the same for television with the return of several series this week, including Fear The Walking Dead, Big Sky, The Resident, Van Helsing, and Prodigal Son.
The excitement kicks off Sunday evening (9 p.m. ET) with the highly-anticipated series premiere of The Nevers on HBO. This Victorian-set supernatural series centers on a small group of people who mysteriously acquire special abilities. The trailers captured our attention early as it showcased a wonderful blend of action and good special effects.
Fear The Walking Dead returns to the lineup at 9 p.m. ET with the first of seven new episodes. Fans of the series are looking forward to finding answers to a few lingering questions since the last episode aired back in November, including Victor Strand’s end game and whether John Dorie will reunite with the team after secretly leaving the group.
Pennyworth wraps its second season on EPIX on Sunday at 9 p.m. ET. This second season has been great thus far, and we are hoping EPIX will give the series the green light for a third season. Lastly, we have the final episode of Shameless, also airing at 9 p.m. on Showtime. The series has garnered a loyal fan base over its eleven-season run. This goodbye will be an emotional one for sure.
The Resident, Prodigal Son, and Big Sky return this Tuesday. Of course, everyone can find the times and networks each series is on below in the listing. Fans of Big Sky will get a larger dose of fun this week with a two-hour episode airing.
In some television news, the world found out that the series debut of Kung Fu last week earned a seven-year rating high for the night (April 7th) on The CW. MacGyver, however, canceled on CBS after five seasons.
Filming is underway for The CW’s Powerpuff live-action series, and a few set pictures released this week gave us a glimpse at the main cast in costume between takes. So far, the costumes look almost exactly what was seen in the animated series.
There was a casting change for the spinoff series of The Witcher: Blood Origin, with Jodie Turner-Smith departing due to a scheduling conflict. She was supposed to play a lead who was named Éile. The blog is curious to hear who replaces the actress. Of course, we hope this does not push the series back much further.
That is all for this week! Until next time, please let us know what you will be watching when visiting the FoCC forum. You can also follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
