It has been far too long since fans have been able to gather together at in-person pop culture conventions, and for a while it seemed as if such things might never take place again. Yet recent announcements (such as the one from Gen Con) have shown that organizers are willing to take that step back into normalcy and put on in-person events once more. Convention organizer ReedPop has just released information regarding hosting in-person conventions in 2021. The list of planned events includes:
- Florida Supercon, Miami Beach Convention Center: September 10-12
- New York Comic Con, Javits Center: October 7-10
- Emerald City Comic Con, Washington State Convention Center: December 2-5
- C2E2, McCormick Place: December 10-12
While fans will likely be excited by this news, ReedPop also stated that attendance would be strictly limited, meaning that not everyone may have the chance to attend these events. Still, it is a good sign of a return to normal, and one that is much appreciated. At the very least, this helps us all look forward to a full convention slate for 2022.
While masks will be required at all times during these events, ReedPop did not make any statement as to whether or not vaccines would be mandated.
