FoCC Reactor: Netflix’s Geeked Week is The Key to a Whole New World.

We are only two days into Netflix’s Geeked Week fandom event, and there is currently plenty of news to share! Here is a recap of the highlights so far:

Shadow and Bone

We learned on Monday that the popular fantasy series Shadow and Bone, based on Leigh Bardugo’s Grishaverse novels, will be returning for a second season. As expected, this bit of news had plenty of excitement online (and a bit of relief) from those who follow the series.

Here is the announcement reel:

The Sandman

A behind-the-scenes peek was released online for the upcoming series adaptation from Neil Gaiman. The Sandman tells the story of people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, who tries to rectifies past mistakes. Gaiman will be the executive producer for the series. The cast is nothing short of stellar, the series has Jenna Coleman, Gwendoline Christie, Charles Dance, Tom Sturridge, Stephen Fry, Patton Oswalt, David Thewlis; Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Mason Alexander Park, Joely Richardson, Niamh Walsh, and Razane Jammal.

Locke and Key

Netflix released several new pictures from the upcoming second season of the popular fantasy series about siblings looking to uncover the mystery of an ancestral home and magical keys. We recommend that mark your calendars for October 2021.

The Umbrella Academy

As we look forward to the upcoming third season of The Umbrella Academy, fans were treated to a little treat in the form of episode titles, comprised of 10 episodes, and here there are:

1) “Meet the Family”
2) “World’s Biggest Ball of Twine”
3) “Pocket Full of Lightning”
4) “Kugelblitz”
5) “Kindest Cut”
6) “Marigold”
7) “Auf Wiedersehen”
8) “Wedding at the end of the World”
9) “Six Bells”
10) “Oblivion”

Lastly, time will tell how these titles will play into the story of a dysfunction family of heroes in the upcoming season.

Blood Red Sky

The trailer for the movie Blood Red Sky, which stars Dominic Purcell (Legends of Tomorrow) and Graham McTavish (Outlander), was released online and, from what we have seen, this movie will take Snakes on a Plane theme to a whole new level. The movie itself will be released on July 23rd.
