Next Week in TV 6/13: The Handmaid’s Tale Season Four Finale, iCarly Returns, and End the Week With Luca!

By Scott C. & DRWHO42

Even though summer is officially a week away from today and with most of the fall shows on a break, the TV world itself is still (thankfully) packing a punch in providing us with something to watch. For instance, there was the Disney+ series premiere of Loki last week.

For Olympic fans, there will be more U.S. Olympic trials action to watch throughout the week. For golf fans, the U.S. Open begins on June 17th. Everything will be on NBC, and the times and dates are in the listing below.

On AMC, the beginning of the week (June 13th) sees Fear The Walking Dead concluding its sixth season, which will be followed by another Talking Dead right after. Overall, the zombie fun begins at 9 p.m. ET. If you are looking for more zombie fun, Black Summer is back for some season two zombie mayhem. The second season debuts on Thursday, June 17th, on Netflix.

On June 16th, fans of The Handmaid’s Tale will finally see the series’ 4th season conclude on Wednesday on Hulu.

Also, on June 17th, is the return/revival of iCarly on Paramount+, with the story being set ten years after iCarly‘s Nickelodeon run concluded in 2012. The upcoming story sees Carly (played by Miranda Cosgrove) and her young friends facing the unknown: life in their twenties. Jennette McCurdy will not be returning to play Sam Puckett, though.

On June 18th, the animated movie Luca by Pixar Animation Studios will begin streaming exclusively on Disney+. The pandemic (sadly) canceled the theatrical release of the film.

In TV news, it looks like Ben Mendelsohn is returning to play Orson Callan Krennic in the Rogue One prequel series Star Wars: Andor, according to The Direct. Forest Whitaker is also returning to play Saw Gerrara. According to Deadline, there is a negotiation stalemate fight between ViacomCBS and co-producer MGM on moving Clarice to Paramount+ this fall.

Shadow and Bone, meanwhile, has been renewed by Netflix, so get ready for season two there. The announcement was packaged as part of their Geeked Week event which took place this past week – for more on that event, click here

We got our first look at Soldier Boy, who is being played by Jensen Ackles in The Boys, on social media. You can check out the photos by clicking here.

Netflix’s live-action Cowboy Bebop series will have Yoko Kanno, the original composer of the Cowboy Bebop anime, Kanno will be creating the soundtrack for the live-action series. Overall, Cowboy Bebop is set to debut this fall on Netflix.

Lastly, the anime movie Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway will be on Netflix this July for those who can’t be in Japan to watch it. We got our first look of the cast for Netflix’s Resident Evil live-action series, and you can see the photo by clicking here.
