SiliCon Announces COVID Measures
by Transmute Jun
West coast fans are eagerly awaiting SiliCon (formerly Silicon Valley Comic Con), scheduled for August 28-29 in San Jose, CA. The con has announced numerous safety measures that will be present, to keep all participants healthy. These include the requirement that all attendees wear a face covering (cosplay masks, gaiters and bandannas not acceptable) and submit to temperature screenings before entry into the convention center. Note that all face coverings must be visible and fit closely, so cosplayers cannot wear anything that covers their faces/prevents their face covering from being viewed.
Additionally, the convention center will be running at reduced capacity and with enhanced cleaning protocols. Wider aisles will be present in the hallways and exhibit hall, to better allow participants to maintain 6 foot social distancing. All concessions will only accept cashless payments, including Apple Pay and Google Pay.
At this time, there are no announced vaccine requirements.
