Next Week in TV 9/5: Legends of Tomorrow, Rick and Morty, Football, and More!

By Scott C. & DRWHO42

It is officially September, everyone! And then it is October right afterward, and Halloween. Soon the full might of the fall TV season will be upon us, but until then, here are a few notables airing this week.

On Sunday, September 5th, the sixth season finale of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow airs at 8 p.m. ET on The CW. The seventh season, however, is just around the corner. It will premiere on October 13th, and yes, that is on a Wednesday night.

Later on Sunday, the two-part 5th season finale of Rick and Morty airs at 11:00 p.m. ET on Adult Swim. Also, do not forget to check out the live promos that feature actors Christopher Lloyd as Rick Sanchez and Jaeden Martell as Morty. Fans can check out the new promo that was released on Sunday morning on social media.

On Tuesday, September 7th, Adult Swim’s Robot Chicken is back for the 11th season at midnight ET. Fans of the series can catch new episodes Monday-Thursday for three weeks at midnight. Also, on Tuesday night, is the 10:00 p.m. ET season 3 premiere of FX’s American Crime Story.

The regular season of the NFL officially gets going this week. Week 1 begins with the Thursday (September 9th) night matchup of the Dallas Cowboys visiting the defending champs Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The game is on NBC at 8:20 p.m. ET.

On Friday morning, September 10th, the 12-episodes of Pokémon Master Journeys: The Series premieres on Netflix for United States fans. This date also marks the 24th season of the Pokémon anime series. Also on Netflix, is the final and 6th season of Netflix’s Lucifer. There will be 10 episodes to watch.

As for everything else, the listing below will (as always) be your guide to all things TV this upcoming week.

In some recent TV news, actor David McCallum is playing Ducky again for the 19th season of NCIS

The Paramount+ series Star Trek: Picard has a new Borg Queen, and actress Annie Wersching will be playing that recurring role. Actresses Alice Krige and Susanna Thompson were the last two who played as the Borg Queen.

And Amazon has recently released a trailer for their upcoming fantasy series The Wheel of Time, which stars actress Rosamund Pike. The first season debuts on Amazon Prime Video this November 19th, 2021.

That’s all for this week. As always, please let us know what you will be watching when visiting the FoCC forum. You can also follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
