While 2020 was certainly a terrible year for most people, 2021 has been a slow recovery (slower than most of us would like). Still, it is important for all of us to acknowledge the progress we have made, as well as the things that have been sacrificed along the way.
One good thing that came out of 2020 for me was that I learned not to take anything for granted. With that in mind, as we celebrate Thanksgiving 2021, there are a number of things for which I and the FoCC Blog are grateful.
- We are thankful that we are able to meet in person and connect socially.
- We are grateful that we are healthy and safe.
- We appreciate our families and friends who helped us get through the lockdowns, emotional stress, pay cuts, and employment uncertainty for the past two years.
- We are excited to be returning to cons, getting back into the pop culture scene in a personal way.
While things are still not back to ‘normal’, it is important to understand and appreciate the things that we do have, which is what the Thanksgiving holiday is all about.
Whether you are celebrating with turkey, Black Friday shopping, or at Comic Con: Special Edition, we at the FoCC Blog wish all of our readers a happy Thanksgiving.
